Some people have had to be treated for depression due to endless demands for financial support by relatives in rural areas. In extreme cases, doctors even advise against visits to the rural home. Many an urban dweller is forced to live with a multiplicity of obligations to relatives. To avoid greater demands on them, people make short and discreet visits to their rural homes. However, the impromptu visits do not entirely save them from the pain of this ‘slavery.’
