Naivasha is popular for many things and is also home to getaways, camps and flower farms. From the roadside makeshifts to the campsites, the town is a haven for those who love adventure.

Crayfish campsite is one of those places that offer accommodation and meals in a natural environment. Situated along the Nakuru highway and sandwiched between flower farms and other campsites, Crayfish offers a spectacular view of Lake Naivasha. It also has plenty of rooms and camping area, complete with a restaurant and bar that goes by the name Laughter Bar.

Crayfish is popular with groups that come for team building. Many camp goers or weekend travellers will be treated to meals at the restaurant that has a tourist ambience dotted with African-themed furniture and decorations. The waiters probably don’t get too many visitors at the same time so they get overwhelmed when it happens. The menu is made of a variety of foods, especially fish which is found in plenty from the lake. Meat is also abundant.

When your adventure takes you to the roadside places, your meal will follow you there. As the camp is not always busy, meals are prepared in record time. Not so far is a beach that leads to a public camp area that has a popular fish joint. Tilapia fish is gotten directly from the lake just a few metres away and you can watch as it is cooked.

The car wash nearby is very convenient. Meals prepared outside the campsite are relatively cheaper than those prepared within the camps. At the Laughter Pub, there are plenty of drinks to choose from and the service is friendly. Nonetheless, you are bound to be among a handful of guests.
