By MACHARIA KAMAU
The Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) has partnered with Zain Kenya, to act as an agent for the mobile operator’s money transfer facility, Zap.
The agreement will enable Zap customers deposit and withdraw money from their accounts through Posta offices.
With a branch network of over 800 postal offices, PCK is expected to boost outlets for the mobile commerce service, which has about 3,000 agents across the country.
Zain Kenya Managing Director, Rene Meza, and Postmaster General, Hussein Ali, signed the agreement yesterday.
Meza said Zap, which was launched in February this year, has cumulatively transferred more that Sh1 billion and has about 400,000 customers.
