Football Kenya earned Sh800,000 appearance fees for honouring Tuesday’s international friendly match against Kuwait in Cairo. Apart from the appearance fee, organisers also paid for the team’s travel, accommodation and internal transport while in Egypt.
Stars enjoyed the luxury of a five-star hotel during their three-day stay. Stars have recently developed an appetite for playing in the Gulf owing to the lucrative appearance fees paid out by match agents. Former secretary Sammy Obingo fell out with the company’s directors over his many trips to the Gulf.
